Chair
Jez joined as Chair of the Trustees in 2025. As a Daddy to a hydro-warrior he is passionate about the need to raise awareness of hydrocephalus. He is motivated to work with the team to deliver change for hydro-warriors and their families and to use this lived experience for good.
Jez works for the energy system operator as a Business Consultant and his focus is on strategy development and digital enablement of the business. His day job involves stepping back and focusing on the big picture and developing strategic outlooks a skill which he brings to the role of Chair.
In his spare time, he can be found walking, dog ‘Ziggy’ with his family and either watching or playing sport.

Matthew
Co-Treasurer
Matt founded the charity, alongside his wife Caroline, following the birth of their son Harry who has congenital hydrocephalus. Matt is passionate about raising awareness of the condition and ensuring that teams who provide care to children like Harry can access the best training possible.
Matthew is a Chartered Surveyor with 17 years experience in commercial property who has worked across many elements of the industry. Currently, he is managing a private portfolio at a property company with a wide range of properties. In addition, he is a member of the 100 Property Club, a charitable group which raises funds for the Lord Taveners.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys fly fishing, golf, walking and cycling.

Louise
Trustee
Louise joined as a trustee in early 2023. She has an older son with hydrocephalus and has found managing his condition and multiple surgeries a very isolating journey to be on. She is very keen to ensure that other families are able to have much more support from not only each other but from healthcare professionals they meet along the way. She is passionate about ensuring that hydrocephalus is understood by schools to ensure hydro children are given every opportunity to thrive.
She works as a project manager helping people with all aspects of moving house.
In her spare time she enjoys long dog walks, cooking for family and friends and sewing.

Naghza
Co-Treasurer
Naghza joined the board of Harry’s HAT in February 2022. Naghza is a qualified accountant and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Over the past 20 years Naghza has held various senior positions with organisations in a range of sectors, with a more recent focus on the not-for-profit and Bio-tech sectors.
In her spare time Naghza enjoys long walks and relaxing with friends in her local café.

Ashwin
Clinical Trustee
Ashwin joined as Clinical Trustee in late 2023. Ashwin is a Neurosurgeon – hydrocephalus forms a large part of his clinical practice. He qualified as a doctor in 2009 and as a neurosurgeon in 2023, having gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2022. His clinical and research interests include brain tumours, traumatic brain injury and how these pathologies cause or contribute to hydrocephalus.
Ashwin’s motivation for joining as Clinical Trustee were because he is extremely keen to increase awareness and support for patients with hydrocephalus and their families. He has always enjoyed treating children with hydrocephalus, supporting them and their families. His clinical neurosurgery interests include management of hydrocephalus in the context of paediatric brain tumours and traumatic brain injury, as well as neuroendoscopic surgery. As the neurosurgical management of hydrocephalus is a developing field, he has a strong academic interest in the recently described glymphatic system and how this may impact our understanding and management of hydrocephalus.
In his spare time Ashwin enjoys; aviation, travel, zoology, running and keeping fit.

Denise
Governance Trustee
Denise was appointed as Governance Trustee in February 2026 but has been an avid supporter of Harry’s Hat since 2022, having met a child with hydrocephalus in the school where she worked. She learned more about the work of Harry’s Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust whilst a member of another local charity who supported it.
She has a background of over 35 years’ working in Personal Assistant (PA) roles, including comprehensive experience in managing organisational policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current, compliant, accessible and are indexed for easy retrieval in adherence to standards.
She worked part time in schools and the NHS whilst raising her three daughters and continued to volunteer in various settings, keeping skills up to date by undertaking courses via distance learning.
In her spare time, she enjoys various crafts, cooking, baking, travelling, spending quality time with her family, also loving the countryside and being by the sea.
