Caroline (known to everyone as Caz) co-founded Harry’s HAT with her husband Matt following Harry’s diagnosis with hydrocephalus. What began as a personal response to the challenges they faced as a family has grown into a national charity that supports families, raises awareness and champions better care for children living with the condition.

Caz ran the charity (from the kitchen table) in a voluntary capacity for four years, laying the groundwork, building relationships and driving forward its mission. In 2022, she became Chief Executive Officer, taking on the role full time as the charity’s work and impact continued to expand.

Before founding Harry’s HAT, Caz held senior positions in a number of UK welfare charities. Her career has focused on securing vital funding, influencing policy and improving services for some of the country’s most vulnerable communities. Her work has earned multiple accolades, including the Institute of Fundraising’s National Fundraiser of the Year.

Caz has also worked closely with MPs and Ministers across the political spectrum to push for meaningful policy change. She is a regular media contributor on welfare and disability issues, helping to bring lived experience to the forefront of national conversations.

As both a parent and a professional, Caz brings a powerful combination of insight, empathy and strategic leadership to her role. She is committed to making sure no family faces hydrocephalus alone and continues to be a passionate advocate for family-centred support and long-term change.

Caz lives in the Southeast with her husband and their four children. Away from work, she enjoys running and proudly completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of the charity. She also nervously supports Harry and Lewis in their latest passion for mountain biking, usually watching from the bottom of the trail and hoping for the best.
