For healthcare professionals

We have funded UK based healthcare professionals who work directly with children affected by hydrocephalus to attend events, further their education or undertake specific training across the UK and abroad.  The aim is support learning and development, which in tern helps to improve patient care. Examples include:

  • European Society for Paediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN)funding Clinical Nurse Specialists to attend an ESPN. 
  • Liverpool Masterclass: We have funded a number of health care professionals who work directly with children with hydrocephalus to attend this event and aim to contiune to do so.
  • British Paediatric Neurological Group (BPNG): We have been supporting attendance at this event in since 2020.
  • Neuroscience module at South Bank University: funding a Clinical Nurse Specialist to complete a module in acute neuroscience care for children and young people, at London South Bank University.

To apply for funding from Harry’s HAT, please fill out the short form below.

We are particularly looking for you to tell us:

  • how attendance will improve your knowledge and practice in relation to childhood hydrocephalus;
  • how you will share the learning within your clinical setting;
  • who your learning will benefit (yourself, children with hydrocephalus, parents/carers?).

Terms & Conditions

Should the grant application be successful you, on behalf of the hospital you represent, will be asked to agree to the following terms and conditions before accepting the approved funding:

  • The grant may be used only for the purposes outlined in the grant application which was approved by the Trustees. If there are any specific restrictions these will be contained in your grant letter. If you are unable to use the grant for the specific purpose for which it was intended, please contact the charity before spending any portion of the grant.
  • If for any reason the grant is no longer required once approved by the Trustees, please inform the charity immediately so that the funds can be redirected to another hospital.
  • If you have already received a grant from us, further applications to the charity are not permitted until at least 12 months have passed from the date of your previous grant offer letter. In some exceptional cases the charity may alter this timeframe, in which case the terms will be contained in your grant award letter.

We aim to make the application process as easy as possible, to avoid adding too much to your workload.

The decision of whether to approve funding will be made by Harry’s HAT’s Board of Trustees. In some circumstances the Board will seek external expertise to help decide.

We aim to let you know of the decision within four weeks of your submission. We may contact you via email or telephone if we need more information.
