On Thursday 6^th of February, at the invitation of the Speaker of the House, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP we held an event in the State Rooms within the House of Commons.

The aim of the event was to highlight the progress of our Get-A-Head campaign and to the launch the next phase, which is calling a clearer referral pathway for baby’s showing signs of hydrocephalus.

Get-A-Head campaigns for increased awareness of the importance of infant head circumference measurement as a tool for diagnosing babies with hydrocephalus and also a review of the current head circumference measurement guidelines as we are currently lagging far behind other countries when it comes to this.

The event was packed! The assembled audience heard from parents; Victoria, Catherine and Caz about the lived impact as well as from Paediatric Neurosurgeon Will Singleton who shared the science and medical justification for measuring a baby’s head.

We are delighted that so many MPs took the time to attend, alongside charities such as the Parent Infant Foundation and the Child Brain Injury Trust, celebrities and senior representatives from the Department of Health and Social Care.

We presented Mr Speaker with a Harry’s HAT Bobble HAT to mark the occasion. We hope it keeps his head warm as he calls the House to order!
