Thanks to an extremely generous donation from the Yateley and District Lions Club we now have 10,000 NHS approved tape measures to give away.  The aim is encouraged health professionals to measure infants’ heads at routine appointments or whenever there are concerns about a baby’s health.   We launched the giveaway at the Southwest 2022 Maternity and Midwifery festival in Cardiff to an audience of 500 midwives and student midwives.

The giveaway is part of our ‘Get-a-head’ campaign which highlights why head circumference measurement is so vital as method of identifying hydrocephalus in babies.  We want to make sure professionals and new parents alike, know why a baby’s head should be measured and have the confidence to ask that it is done.   www.harrys-hat.org/get-a-head
